Sarandon was born in Queens in New York City. Sarandon is the eldest child of nine children of Lenora Marie and Phillip Leslie Tomalin. Phillip Leslie Tomalin was an advertising executive, one-time nightclub singer and television producer. She has four brothers: Phillip Leslie Jr., Terry Timothy, and O’Brian. She has four sisters: Meredith, Bonnie Priscilla, Melissa, and Amanda. Her father hails from English, Irish, and Welsh ancestry. Her mother is of Italian Descendant. Her mother’s ancestors are from regions of Tuscany and Sicily.
