In addition to the six persons who died in an early morning shooting in the neighborhood of 10th Street and K Street near the state Capitol, Sacramento Police have identified 12 people with varying degrees of injury.
Following an earlier report that ten individuals had been hospitalized, police verified those casualties in an afternoon press release.
“Officers on the scene commenced life-saving procedures for many individuals,” police added. “However, six people were pronounced dead at the site despite these efforts.”

Police are looking for suspects in connection with a mass shooting that occurred early Sunday in downtown Sacramento, killing six people and injuring another 12.
Authorities are appealing for the public’s aid in identifying who is responsible since they don’t know if one or multiple individuals were involved. Lester did not specify the sort of rifle or firearms that were utilized.
According to authorities, at least one pistol was seized from the site.
Pamela Harris was disturbed by the quiet. Sergio, she added, might have been one of the six people killed in the incident. Sergio’s father confirmed to ABC10 that he was one of the victims. He was reported to be 38 years old at the time.
At a press conference, Police Chief Kathy Lester described the shooting as a “very awful circumstance,” adding that officials do not have any suspects in custody and are seeking public assistance.
She asked anyone who saw anything, has footage of the event, or has other information for the authorities to come forward.

Officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to shots fired in the neighborhood of 10th Street and K Street on April 3, 2022, at around 2:00 a.m. Officers arrived to find a huge group of people as well as many gunshot victims.
Officers began administering life-saving treatments to a number of casualties on the spot. Despite their attempts, six people were pronounced dead on the spot.
A total of twelve further victims have been found, all of whom have suffered varying degrees of injury.
