Missing Man Kyle Moorman Found Dead With Three Children In The Indianapolis Pond

Southwest of Indianapolis, in a pond, were found the bodies of a father and his three young children who went missing last week after embarking on a fishing excursion.

The children’s bodies were discovered inside a car that was submerged in water on the 2900 block of Bluff Road just after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a news statement from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office has identified the identities of the victims, Kyle Moorman, 27, and his three children Kyle Moorman II, 5, Kyannah Holland, 2, and Kyran Holland, 1 year old.

Police did not immediately publicize the victims’ names after the bodies were discovered; instead, they said in a news release that there was “a connection” between the remains and the four missing individuals.

On the south side of the Indianapolis pond, where Kyle frequently goes night fishing, the remains of Kyle Moorman and his three children were found. Kyle Moorman, 27, his three children, Kyle Moorman II, 5, and Kyran Holland, 1, were last seen on July 6, 2022.

At 7:42 p.m. on Tuesday, Kyle Moorman’s body was found in a pond close to Bluff Road and Troy Avenue, tragically ending the week-long search for the missing family.

Detectives are working to ascertain what exactly happened to cause this catastrophe. Officers and a dive team were sent to the pond on Tuesday night in response to reports of a dead person in the water.

Moorman had told his family that he planned to take his kids fishing at the pond when he was last seen on July 6 at his brother’s house. Moorman’s sister, Mariah Moorman, reported that her brother’s phone was last seen near the pond on July 7 at around 12:40 a.m., a few hours after he was last heard from.

Family members and friends searched the pond and the surrounding area around Bluff Road and West Troy Avenue for several days before the remains were found.

Some had already begun to weep as they gathered on Bluff Road to see dive teams enter the sea. Eventually, a large tow truck arrived and retrieved a car from the water.

Members of the Department of Natural Resources and the Indianapolis Fire Department Dive Team used sonar technology to locate the car, a black Saab.
