Keith Wiemelt Obituary News: Longtime Quincy Park Band conductor, Keith Wiemelt killed in fatal car accident.

Keith has been the conductor of the Quincy Park Band since 2014, being only the 3rd conductor since the founding of the organization 74 years ago.

On Tuesday, Quincy Park Band announced Keith’s tragic and unexpected passing from a car accident via a statement shared on Facebook.

“Today the Quincy Park Band is heartbroken as we learn that our conductor Keith Wiemelt tragically passed away in a car accident last night… He had a great knack for choosing a wide variety of music that engaged musicians and audiences alike.”

Wiemelt was involved in other musical ensembles including the Salvation Army Kroc Center Band, Quincy Notre Dame Band, Mark Twain school, Arts Quincy’s Band on the Bus, Great River Honor Flight Band, Heidelberg German Band, the Quincy Community Theatre, and the Muddy River Opera Company.

Keith leaves behind his wife Bonnie and three children.
