Kathy was part of a group of high school friends who, in 1978, together with the members of the Science Fiction Club of Towson, formed a club called the Star Trek Association of Towson (now STAT Club of Maryland) and in 1979, held the first Shore Leave convention. She is survived by her husband Weston and children Erin and Sean.
