Joseph R. Lane Death: A man was hit and killed while he was trying to save a deer which was on the road on Red Rock Road in Wysox, in Bradford County.
A fatal accident occurred on Tuesday morning, May 3, 2022, between Coolbaugh Road and Red Rock Road in Wysox, in Bradford County, Pa.
According to a driver that arrived on the scene shortly after the accident occurred, the crash happened around 5am and traffic was not moving due to the crash.
A truck driver had stopped to move a dead deer out of the roadway to protect other motorists. However, the victim ended up being struck by another driver, who was traveling eastbound to work.
A fellow motorist provided CPR as he tried to assist the injured driver who had been hit by a vehicle.
Wysox fire and EMS crews responded to the accident scene.
The Bradford County Coroner was requested to the scene as the victim passed away due to his injuries.
The victim was identified as 55-year-old Joseph R. Lane of Sayre, Pa.
The roadway remained closed for several hours as Pennsylvania State Police ran a crash reenactment during their investigation of the fatal accident.
