Jeff died on March 26, 2022, from a heart attack at a hospital in Franklin, Tennessee, at the age of 58. Jeff’s passing news was first reported by ‘The Hollywood Reporter,’ which confirmed through Jeff’s publicist Jeremy Westby that the singer died of a heart attack at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee. Jeff is survived by his wife, Kim Cooper Carson, and his son, Dayton Grei Herndon Carson, as well as other family members. His death caused great sadness to his beloved ones.

As mentioned before, he died from a heart attack. Jeff was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and grew up in Gravette, Arkansas. He played harmonica and guitar and also sang in church. Jeff and some friends formed a band in high school. They won 2nd place at a local talent show for performing the song “Seven Bridges Road.” After graduation, Jeff attended another talent competition that took place at a park in Rogers, Arkansas. Then, the winner of that competition asked Jeff to play in his band. The band split up after 4 years.

Jeff charted 14 singles on the Billboard country charts, which includes the Number One hit ‘Not on Your Love,’ the Top Ten hits ‘The Car’ and ‘Holdin’ Onto Somethin”, and the Top 20 ‘Real Life (I Never Was the Same Again).’ He got retired from music in the year 2009 and became a police officer.
