Farah Elawar, a PhD student studying virology in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry was two months away from completing her PhD program when she was in a fatal car accident.
Farah had just made a new discovery in the school lab on July 18, 2021. She was glad to share the news of her new discovery to her parents when she decided to drive to them in Alsike, Alta. Unfortunately, Farah died in a car accident on her way home.
