Eugene was born in New London, March 15, 1932, the son of Charles J. and Cora Patterson Norton.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and had worked for 38 years at Pfizer retiring as the day foreman in the piping maintenance department. He was an avid golfer.

Eugene was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Noll Norton in April of 2010; as well as his son Kenneth Norton; his brothers, Joseph and Charles Norton; and his sisters, Helen Huntley and Jean Patterson.
