He was born on September 28, 1957, in Austin, Tx. He was born to his late parents, his father, James Wilford Howard; and his mother, Mildred E. Poole. Cliffton played football in junior high and was a 1975 graduate of Howard High School.
He was a very giving person; resourceful, loved, and always willing to help. He was an avid sports fan! He loved getting together with family and friends. Cliffton was baptized at New Emanuel Baptist Church by the Reverend W. H. Thompson in Chattanooga. Cliffton was never married.
