Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer Charged; Candyce Sellars Threatened Two People

After a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officer identified as Candyce Sellars threatened to harm to two people, she is being charged following the allegations.

Candyce Sellars was charged with two misdemeanor counts of communicating threats according to CMPD. On Friday morning before 3:30 in the morning, she turned herself into the Mecklenburg County Detention Center.

On July 13, Wednesday a victim called the police to say she was threatened with bodily harm by a known suspect according to police report. However, a second victim who also reported being threatened with bodily harm by the same known suspect was recognized by the police during investigation.

The CMPD Internal Affairs began an internal investigation into Sellars after a patrol supervisor notified  them.

Presently, Sellars is is under an internal investigation and will remain on administrative assignment until an outcome is reached. She has been employed with CMPD since April 2015 according to report.
