‘Warehouse 13′: Are You Over H.G. Wells?

Warehouse 13 put a cap on season 2 with a fun and surprising finale that finally revealed H.G. Wells’ evil agenda. For those who haven’t seen the episode yet, lemme just say *SPOILER ALERT!* … OK, where was I? Oh yeah, with the evil …

It turns out that H.G. is dead inside – a result of her daughter’s murder and finding out that the world has gotten stupider and uglier since the late 1800s. So what’s a super sexy, time traveling and ultimately depraved literary figure to do? Why, try to kill everyone by spawning a new ice age with a magical trident, of course!

‘Warehouse 13′ Review – Secrets are Unearthed in ‘Buried’

“One shall die.” Those words haunted our agents as they tackled one of their most daunting cases yet — a case that revealed more secrets about the Warehouse than ever before. H.G. Wells was put to the test, and even Regent Valda showed up to lend a hand. (Oh, and Pete “won,” for what it’s worth.)

Before we dive into this ep, I want to say that I don’t think Valda (Mark Sheppard) is dead. My theory? He’s in collusion with H.G. on whatever nefarious plan she’s cooking up for Warehouse 2. It’s presumably full of lost artifacts, so the potential for chaos is certainly high.

We learned that the Warehouses are somewhat organic, and they have a psychic link with the Caretaker, currently Mrs. Frederic. When Warehouse 2 came back online, it started to overload Mrs. Frederic’s mind. Apparently, a link with two Warehouses can kill you. I wonder if being the Caretaker slows the aging process or if Mrs. Frederic was a young thing like Claudia when she first took on the role.

‘Warehouse 13′ Review: Peta and Myka Visit the ’60s in ‘When and Where’

Love is at the heart of every great story, isn’t it? And while it may not be at the heart of Pete and Myka’s story (yet?), it was at the core of Rebecca and Jack’s. Pete and Myka’s predecessors fell in love while working for the Warehouse in the 1960s, and now we got to see exactly how that happened. And it was all thanks to H.G. Wells. Figure out how yet? Maybe you can use the title as a hint.

While the jury’s still out on H.G. Wells as an agent — is she good or is she bad? — there’s no question she’s a great addition to the cast of Warehouse 13. For good or bad, I’ve come to feel about her character as I did for Claudia when she joined early in the first season. Wells adds a whole new dimension to the team and the show, not to mention conflict within the group.

I suspect she’s still working her own agenda, but for now at least she’s on the right side, and luckily had the right equipment to pull it off. Now, it’s time to get my nerd on… ready?

‘Warehouse 13′: Do You Trust H.G. Wells?

Tons of crazy stuff happened on last night’s episode of Warehouse 13 (so, yeah, spoilers ahead!). Artie was kidnapped, an evil runaway cricket ball tormented Pete and Myka, and Claudia almost Tesla-d her new boyfriend in the face! Oh, and Star Trek’s Captain Robau showed up to reinstate H.G. Wells as a Warehouse agent.

Wha?

That was my reaction. So far, I’ve been loving all the twists and turns the show has delivered concerning H.G. Wells (She’s a hot chick! She’s a good guy! She invents more cool sh*t than Doc Brown on a caffeine high!), and Jaime Murray seems to be having a blast playing the role. But her reinstatement as a Warehouse agent had me scratching my head.

Thing is, I just don’t trust her. I want to, but I don’t. She’s cool and clever, and she’s seemingly proven that she’s not out to kill everybody by saving Claudia and Artie’s lives on two separate occasions. But I still have questions about why she was bronzed in the first place. She gave Myka a tidy explanation (“I was asked to be bronzed”), but there’s gotta be more to it than that.
