Halloween Week: Robert Englund Gets Creepy Tonight on ‘Chuck’

Halloween Week kicks off tonight as the OG Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund, heads to the Buy More to scare Chuck silly, which, admittedly, isn’t a hard thing to do, on tonight’s Halloween-themed episode of Chuck. Want another reason to watch tonight’s ep? Well here ya go: Chuck will finally come face to face with his long lost mom, played by Linda Hamilton. Need another? Jeff and Lester will eat up a good chunk of the hour goofing around and building a cringe-worthy “aisle of terror” for the Buy More! Now that’s infotainment!

Here’s a fun set video for tonight’s ep, ‘Chuck Versus the Aisle of Terror’ airing at 8 p.m. ET on NBC:

TV DeathRay Podcast 2: ‘Chuck’ Actress Mekenna Melvin

The TV DeathRay Podcast is back, and we have a special treat for all you Chuck fans this week — an interview with actress Mekenna Melvin!

As most of you know, Mekenna plays Alex, the daughter of Adam Baldwin’s character Casey, on Chuck. We talked about her role on the show, her martial arts training, and about the time her mom dressed her up as a Klingon when she was a kid. For real.

It’s a short interview (and the audio quality is a little spotty) but we hope you enjoy it. You can read the full interview with Mekenna very soon at Film Gecko.

5 Things We Loved (And Didn’t Love) About The ‘Chuck’ Season 4 Premiere

Poor ol’ Chuck Bartowski. It seems like he can never really get ahead no matter how hard he tries.

The season 4 premiere of Chuck reset a lot that was undone during season 3: Chuck is back in the spy game, he rejoined the Buy More, he’s lying to his sister again, and he was reunited with Morgan, Casey and Sarah for another season of spy-hunting action. But the premiere also set in motion an intriguing new arc – the search for Chuck’s mom (Linda Hamilton) – and offered some fun surprises amid all the EMP blasting and globe-trotting goofiness.

There was a lot to love about Chuck‘s return to the tube, and, sadly, there was also a lot not to love. Here are 5 things we loved (and didn’t love) about the season 4 premiere of Chuck:

Morning Blast: ‘Stargate Universe,’ ‘The Dark Tower,’ ‘Smallville,’ ‘Fringe,’ and More

OMFGeez! It feels so good to be surfing the Internets again! An evil, evil beastie called Tropical Storm Hermine blew threw my town this week and killed my connex for almost two days. Two days! That’s like centuries for someone who depends on this infinite series of tubes to make a living. But the modem lights are flashing again and all is right with the world, so let’s get back to business — here’s all the hot nerd TV news you need to know about this mornin’:

- I’m counting the days until David Hewlett reprises the role of Rodney McKay on next season of Stargate Universe. Hewlett and Robert Picardo (Richard Woolsey) will guest star on episode 15 of season 2, airing sometime in the second half of 2011. In a new interview, Hewlett says the writers have done a “really good job” of working McKay and Woolsey into the ep. [Gateworld]

- And speaking of SGU, here are a bunch of photos from the season 2 premiere, airing Sept. 28. [Spoiler TV]

- Universal is making a movie trilogy and a TV show based on Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series. The films and the show will be closely linked, and Ron Howard has signed to direct the first flick and the show’s first season. [THR]

- Aquaman, Aka “that guy who talks to fish,” is heading back to Smallville this season. Alan Ritchson will reprise the role. [Ausiello]

Morning Blast: George Takei on ‘Big Bang,’ Plus ‘Caprica,’ ‘Chuck,’ and more

Lookin’ for a quick dose of nerdy TV news to spice up your breakfast? We’ve got ya covered …

- Wow! I never thought I would envy Howard Wolowitz, but oh how things have changed now that major sci-fi TV icons are lining up to hang with him. Star Trek‘s OG Sulu, George Takei, just signed to guest star on The Big Bang Theory this season. He’ll appear alongside Battlestar Galactica vet Katee Sackhoff as one half of Wolowitz’s conscience. Producers are also trying to get Evil Wil Wheaton back on the show. Sounds like a good year for the Big Bang. [TV Squad]

- Caprica returns to Syfy to wrap up the second half of its first season in January, but the network is still unsure if season two is in the cards. [Fancast]

- Here’s some better news: AMC has renewed The Walking Dead for a second season! The show premieres Halloween night. [IGN]

- Check out the first pics from the Chuck season four premiere featuring Linda Hamilton as Chuck’s big momma. [Spoiler TV]
